The best way to become a writer is to start writing. Brainstorm ideas, or just write about your goals, desires, and your passions. Write every day and turn writing into something that comes naturally. When you want or need to write about something you do not have knowledge on, read about it, comment to people and ask questions about the topic.
To be anything in life and succeed takes work, there is so much material and information in how to get things done but you must put the time and energy into reading and applying the knowledge you learn. Make a list of goals, more like a to do list of objectives needed to accomplish the result.
When I wanted to break into writing I just opened Word and started writing and a day later I had my blogging website up with my own blogs, it was that simple, I focused on each step and got it done. Get out of the mode of thinking, and start doing, when you’re planning, write the plan down. I kept at it for 8 hours with short 5 to 10-minute breaks every half hour and before I went to bed I had 4 blog post, signed up for free newsletters that taught me how to get gigs.
STOP PUTTING IT OFF
The best way to overcome procrastination is to stop thinking of all the work you must do and focus on the steps you need to do to complete the task. One step can take 5 minutes before you know it you will have completed most of the steps. You will not get anywhere in life if you just think about what you need to do all the time which makes it even harder to do while you’re doing it. It is easier to commit to 15 minutes of work on a few steps than to 8 hours of work so put the single steps in front. When you’re driving down the road on a long trip you are not looking at the whole trip, keep your eyes in front of you and focus where you are at in the moment.
Staying in the moment is a key to success in life, the techniques I use involve yoga, tai chi, and meditation. The easiest way to meditate is to sit in a seated comfortable position with your back straight and take an inhale deep into the abdomen hold the inhalation for 5 seconds then exhale and hold the exhale for 5 seconds then repeat the process. When your breathing out, exhale that drama, and all that is stressing you out, then on an inhale think of breathing in light nourishing your mind, body, and spirit. I have used this technique when I teach yoga and meditation classes and use it every day. This helps me achieve a mental state ready for the day’s work by keeping my focus on the next step. This will also help you grab hold of your time management by reducing your stress and the shakes as well as the momentary lapse of reason some people may have when mentally bogged down by all they need to do.
It is important to get the mental fog out of our heads and keep our objectives clear and concise to achieve success in any aspect of our life. Finding the time to unwind and relax through mediation is key in life. Meditate for 5 minutes and slowly increase it to 10 than 15 all the way up to 30 minutes a day. You should meditate in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to sleep, I can guarantee you it will have a profound effect on your life. Remember go at the pace you are comfortable with.
WRITERS BLOCK
Let me guess you hit a wall at some point, thoughts are blocked and you can’t write, you have writers block. Writers block is the condition of not being able to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing. The best way to overcome not being able to think of what you can write about is to get into a conversation and then write about your views on the topics you discussed; if you have a topic to write about do the same but look for people in an open forum or discussion about the topic and express your views. I am sure you will find something to say; after all writing is about conversation; conversation between the writer and their reader. You must be creative in writing to engage the reader, and that means we need to stir up some emotions in others and us, look for conflict that paints a picture of the situation or topic your writing. If you have writers block that means you need research and you need to read or talk to others. Remember anything you think of you can write so write your thoughts and read them allowed.
A way to combat writers block is to generate creativity by getting passionate about a topic, you do that by asking yourself or other people questions about that topic, if you cannot think of questions ask about how one feels about the subject, ask for their opinion. I am sure they will respond with a statement that will allow you to generate more questions. Than you can write this down in a brainstorm.
Write something every day no matter how trivial it may seem, this keeps our minds in check and is good practice to analyze our will to perform but that will not happen if you’re not actively involved in your craft. For us writers we must comment on post, you must be out there on social media to meet people just as you would if you were going to a party to socialize. If you write every day you will always have something to talk about, these conversations will bring new growth and opportunity as well as a fresh angle from an outside source. I know from personal experience that people’s opinions and ideas stir up motivation in me and gives me a sense of validation. When you make writing habitual like walking there will never be a block in your writing.
RHYMING
Okay so you are a writer, have you ever rhymed on a dime to make your soul shine, feeling clean, and fine. You’re wondering what to write, to get you psyched, so make your rhymes tight, and take flight so you can reach new heights.
Rhyming is so poetic and the most rewarding type of writing and fun to act out.
It’s simple to write one rhyming line it may take a while to have bars on file in your own personal style but it will be more rewarding when you find your writing boring with no creativity so spark some ingenuity, write rhymes to get out the rust that make you feel like you’re in a rut and stuck in writing muck. Still shook on rhymes that bite, by a book on rhymes to put down on lines, you will not be committing a crime. This will build your confidence by rhyming with words of essence.
Another confidence building exercise is the power of positive affirmation. So many times, I come across people that say, “they can’t…” which is a killer. Start saying you can out loud, look yourself in the mirror and say, “I can write …” or “I am a success”. Simply put, stop saying you can’t, start saying you can. Instead of saying “I have writers block” start saying, “I can write”. Say to yourself “I can write all night, take inspiration to new heights” and now you can find words that rhyme with heights and finish your own line.
Not only will these ideas build confidence but they will improve your skill as a writer as well as keep us focused on our goals in life. Everyone writes and everyone should write and keep logs. Writing our ideas and thoughts perfects our skill and keeps us organized and in turn builds motivation for achieving success.
Anything you do in life is going to take some work. If your passion is your work than you
should have no problem living a full life. Being happy at what you do is probably the most important thing in life. Don’t write for fame or fortune, write because you love to write, don’t work for the money do your craft that you love and get paid to do it. Be happy and enjoy the world and the people around you, this is the best advice I can give anyone. When you love what you do you automatically do It better than something you do not love to do. So, make your work life fun, and your will never feel like you have a job.
